2017 New Years Resolutions & Giveaway!

New Years Eve is not just about going to the best party and kissing a significant other at midnight. It is a time of reflection and planning. Reflecting on the good moments and the bad. Planning the next year and making goals, some of which are unattainable.

I have fallen into this category multiple times. Making new years resolutions that I know will only last the month of January. I know that you guys understand because we all do it. However, 2017 is going to be different. I am making a commitment to keep myself accountable for the two things I want to accomplish.

My first new years resolution is to become closer to God. I have wanted to read the Bible from start to finish but each time I make excuses. For Christmas I was given a journal Bible so that I can write alongside my own notes. I also downloaded a devotional app to my phone called Love God Greatly. My son normally takes a mid morning nap and that is my time to catch up. My only goal is to get through my morning devotional and at least one page of the Bible. Very doable!

My second new years resolution is to get healthy. I am only four months post partum but I am still 16lbs from my pre-baby weight. After giving birth to an 8lb baby, I have come to the conclusion my body will not look the exact same as it once did. However, I want to be happy with my body again.

Their are multiple reasons my body did not “bounce back” from having my baby. I was not able to breast feed my son so I know this played a huge role. Another being that since I am a military wife I spend most of my time raising our son on my own. With that being said, I had to find a way to lose weight without spending an hour at a gym.

I stumbled across a YouTube video about a exercise guide that is only 12 weeks long. It is known as the Bikini Body Guide. The workouts only last 30 minutes and do not require weights. I also purchased the 28 Day Healthy Eating & Lifestyle Guide: 200 Recipes and Weekly Menus to Kick Start Your Journey. At first I was going to wait until Monday to begin but that was just another excuse. So instead I started the beginners guide workout this past Wednesday. Let me just say that it kicked my butt!

So for the next few weeks I plan on updating you guys via social media. I haven’t posted my before picture just because I am honestly really insecure about it. Once I start seeing a change I do plan on showing everyone my progress.
