My Favorite Self-Tanner On A Budget

Most of you already know I provide spray tans as apart of my services. While living in Beaufort, I decided to purchase a spray tan machine for not just my clients but myself. Poor Matthew was talked into making me tan. The only problem being that he began to deploy. During this time we were not bringing in a lot of extra income and to be quite honest the $50 self-tanners were not in our budget. So I began to look for the best self-tanner that would not break the bank.

I tried numerous products including ones by L’Oréal, Jergens, and Fake Bake Flawless. I would rattle off the rest but none of them matter because I ended up finally finding one that I LOVE and that is St. Moriz Self-Tanning Mousse. The very first thing that stood out to me was its green undertone. This to me meant I definitely would not be orange. If anything it is perfect for those seeking an olive tone complexion. They have an array of different types including lotion, mist, mousse, fast tanning and gradual self-tanners. I personally am a mousse fan.

The first time I purchased the mousse, I decided to go with the medium because of how fair I am. However, I do love the dark for summer months when I have more color to my skin. I made sure to shave, exfoliate and moisturize my skin before applying to make the application easier. Most women use a mit to apply their self-tanners but I find it easier for me to use gloves. Afterwards, make sure to wear something dark and baggy. Allow the mousse to work its magic for 4-6 hours before rinsing. PLEASE make sure to rinse. You do not want to be “that” girl who looks fake, streaky and smells.

If done properly, you will be left looking like a tan goddess. Make sure to keep your skin moisturized and exfoliate when you see the self-tanner is beginning to wear off. I have seen many people using gradual self-tanners in between applications to make sure their tan stays even. This is one reason I purchased the St. Moriz Fast Tanning Mousse. I plan on using it on my fourth day to revamp the look of my tan. It would also be perfect for date nights. You know those times your significant other calls you last minute wanting to go out? Well I have found the quick fix y’all! This mousse can be washed after one hour! So no more pasty dates.

Last, what kind of post would this be if I didn’t tell you guys about an amazing deal on these bad boys. Right now they are buy one get one half off! I bought these both today for $17!  So do not miss out on this deal folks. Winter months are coming and make sure you are looking nice and bronze. Have a great weekend!

  1. I’ve actually never tried self tanner in my life. I’m so pale that I worry I’d turn a weird orangey tinge so I’ve never been brave enough to give it a go.

  2. Great review! I’ve never tried this but I definitely need to!

  3. I totally need to try this self tanner. I’m always looking for good products on a budget.

  4. I need to start using self-tanner more! I worship the sun wayyyy too much year round.
